About Melinda
Hello, I’m Melinda, an ICF-certified Life Coach and Owner of Enso Empowerment Coaching. With over 550 hours of Coaching both Individuals and Groups, I’ve guided individuals and organizations to collaborate more effectively for significant and sustained impact.
After receiving my BSE, IOE Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, I gained 17 years of engineering experience working extensively with all levels in organizations, from Managers to Manufacturing Operators. I successfully facilitated change management teams and developed training in companies such as Steelcase, Perrigo, International Paper, and automotive suppliers.
I would love to partner with your organization to unlock the full potential of your team members. My mission is to develop collaboration and synergy within organizations, both for your organization’s sustained success and to create a world where people relate to each other with respect.
Why is EEC more effective?
Several reasons: My entire life experience, professional and personal; and the use of somatics, as mentioned at the top, allowing the learning “stick” for lifelong transformation.
I am effective because I’ve been on the other side of what I coach. By being on the other side, I am deeply in tuned to my clients’ needs, and I understand what skills are needed to uncover their potential to thrive and contribute. By receiving coaching over many years I overcame my struggles.
By being someone who couldn’t speak up, whose ideas were shut down. I lived the frustration of stuffing down my ideas, waiting for the next “opportunity” to present itself, before I realized through coaching that I had the ability to create my own opportunities.
By being someone involved in conflict and being discriminated against in life and as a female engineer, I lived the resentment, anger, and inability to work with “difficult people”. Meanwhile the organization lost out on the team’s increased productivity. Through coaching I learned that communication is much more complex than most understand and it became possible to work with anyone. I learned that anyone can write an email, anyone can speak. But that is not the same as effectively communicating.
I am effective because I was forced to be keenly aware of all the perspectives surrounding a group/culture and how this affects synergy and collaboration. As a gift of growing up in two cultures - born in the USA to traditional old world parents - I was acutely aware of the dynamics between how a group understands itself, how a group thinks others perceive them, and how others from outside the group generally perceive the group. Through coaching I learned how to recognize the truths in each of the different perspectives, allowing me to create the collaboration and synergy needed to support more authentic, effective organizational transformation.
n short, I am effective because I went through a transformation through coaching, and I reaped the benefits of thriving as an individual, with groups, and at my organizations.
